A woman has been remanded in custody after appearing in Kununurra Magistrates Court on Monday morning charged with the murder of a man in a suspected family violence-related incident in Wyndham.
Kaylene Susan Jade Clarke is charged with murder and breaching protective bail conditions.
Homicide detectives charged the 26-year-old after an investigation into the death of the man at Wyndham on Friday.
About 11.55pm, police went to Koolama Street where they found a 28-year-old man with serious injuries, Clarke was located nearby and arrested.
The man was taken to Kununurra Hospital, before then being flown via Royal Flying Doctor’s Service to Royal Darwin Hospital in Northern Territory, where he was declared deceased.
Police allege Clarke assaulted the man minutes before the police arrived.
In a statement, police said that the alleged murder was believed to be “family violence related”.
Clarke did not make an application for bail when she appeared in court. Her case will be heard in Stirling Gardens Magistrate Court on May 28.
